Move messages to trash

I just received a iPod and it is synced with my iPad and all my emails are on both. I can delete messages on my iPad no problem but not on the iPod. When I try to move my inbox to my trash I get a message Unable to move message.

You delete them the same as your iPad, You cannot delete the folder, You have to delete each message or email. Your inbox does not get deleted especially depending on the email you have - The inbox is part of the email program setup.
