I have a jailbroken ipad 2 on 6.1 and would like to update to 7.0.4 and re-jailbreak. I have already done 3 iphones and one mini ipad with no problems but I cannot do my ipad2. I have tried numerous time to update through iTunes and it times out and loses (seems to shut down) my internet at about half way through the download.

I tried to do a shift and restore from a file I got off the internet (site is reliable) and again it says that it is not compatible which is probably correct since the firmware on my ipad 2 is 6.1 and I am trying to restore to 7.0.4.

I also tried to download the update directly from the ipad section but it just says "Checking for Update" and spins but doesn't do anything else.

Does anyone have any ideas / suggestions??

You'll need to place device into DFU mode and restore as new.
