I have an unlocked iphone without a sim in wifi only. I have signed up with an Apple ID and basically all is working great. I am iTunes-free meaning I do all file and photo and music and video transfers using a shared network drive app to my windows laptop (and vice versa). I've never connected my phone physically using a USB cable and prefer copying files using shared drive storage over my wifi connection. In a sense I'm using the iphone as a glorifies iPod at this point.
So my question is, every once in a while I get this nag popup that tells me I am not activated with a carrier. I dismiss it and it goes away sometimes for days and then returns again. Is there any way to get rid of it or do I just have to stick a sim in there? What if the sim is not active? Will it still nag me? Or do I just live with it?
