Hi, I am an Android refugee, got my 5S yesterday.

Is it possible to sync my personal (non-gmail) account between my desktop and 5S so that deleting an email on either deletes it from both?

That activity requires an IMAP email configuration. It is not possible with a POP3 email setup.

Set up your pop account to forward to a mail provider that used imap whether that is gmail, yahoo, or Apple's iCloud. I do that with my Verizon FIOS mail and it works well.
