facetime using iPad2 3G

Wanted to give my iPad2 with AT &T 3G to my mother-in-law so we can Facetime with her, but I need to use the 3G as she has no internet service. Is this iPad too old? What other options would I have? I bought the new iPad mini w/retina for myself.

You should be fine. I FaceTime with my bestie often and she has an iPad 2.

FaceTime over 3G is not supported on the iPad 2, only on the 4S & up and iPad 3 & up.

No front camera on the iPad2. You'd need a device with a Front camera.

I'm just seeing your response. Maybe I'm mistaken but I'm pretty positive the iPad 2 has a FaceTime camera.
