cant hear anything

when making or receiving phone calls I cant hear the person on the other end of the phone. when making a phone call I cant hear the ringing noise that tells your call is going through

Is the volume turned up high enough?

Make sure you don?t have it in silence (check the side switch next to the volume buttons). Try turning it off completely and back on again. If that does?t work --> genius bar appointment.

How old is this phone? If it's a new phone, do you have the plastic pulled off the screen?
