Started the update download at 9.00 this morning and it hasn't really moved any by 3.30 pm. Fully charged but not letting me send messages which prompted the software update. Can you please advise? Mb44

Reboot the device. It will pick up where it left off and resume the installation.

Just a suggestion beyond ^^^ this one...but depending on the type of download you were doing, try the opposite one this time...if you were doing it in iTunes, try it on the device...if you were doing it on the device, try it in iTunes. Typically, the device update is the most efficient way of doing it that I've found.
