Why is the full website not showing up on iPad

Why isn't the full sites showing up on iPad. Just the words and menu. No pictures. Also. It says safari cannot connect to server quite often. Why why why????

In addition to what SwitchBeach stated, know that a majority of websites will load a mobile version of their site when it detects that you are browsing from a mobile device like the iPhone, iPod and iPad.
