    Since updating I cannot add any entries into the calendar this is a tad frustrating, I have tried rebooting does anyone have any other suggestions

    If your calendar is associated with an email service like iCloud, Google, Yahoo, Outlook.com, etcetera, backup your device via iTunes or iCloud, delete the account associated with the calendar, reboot your device and then reconfigure the account. Hopefully, that will correct the issue for you.
