I hope I can type this into words & you guys understand without screen shots. I took a few pics tonight at a concert. I noticed after the concert you can see the "thumb nails" of the pics but when you tap 'em SOME are black & SOME are fine. What does HDR mean in the top left of the picture

HDR is an option that you can turn on in the camera app. When you take a picture it takes multiple shots of the same scene and combines them to get the best exposure of highlights, midtones and shadows. When it's on and you take a picture it usually processes for a little while after the shutter has been released so what may have happened is that you moved the phone away from the scene during the processing and it captured the darkness. They aren't uploading, go to Settings, Photos & Camera and scroll to the bottom you will see Keep Normal Photo. This option applies to HDR and when it is toggled on it will save the regular picture as well as the HDR version in your camera roll. Check if it is on, if it's not then the HDR version is all you have and if it's all black then that's your picture. If the option is toggled on then you should see some pictures that show something along with the blacked out pictures. The ones without HDR on them are the regular pictures.

Yes. You really only want to toggle HDR on in the camera when you are taking a picture with really high contrast.

The easiest way to get pics on the Apple TV is to turn on photo stream on both the phone and Apple TV. You could also just use airplay and do screen sharing between phone and Apple TV.
