Before upgrading to IOS7, when I told Siri the word period at the end of a sentence, then a "." appeared in the text line. Now the word "period" appears! What's up with that?

I don't know what to tell you, because, like you, I tell Siri to insert periods, comma, etcetera, and it does without actually typing in the period, comma, etc. in word form. I, too, am using iOS 7, specifically 7.0.2.

Same here I use period and question mark all the time and haven't had an issue. I'm also on 7.0.2 so if you're not try upgrading to the latest iOS version and then see if there is any change.
