No sound after upgrading to ios 7

Checked the side controls - yes, ringer is on.
But on the home screen, if I press the volume controls - it just shows "ringer" with the bell. It doesn't say (headphones) and it doesn't have that line that shows how loud your sound is.
When I'm in music, you can see the lines and the quiet loudspeaker and the loud loudspeaker, but you can press all you like and the sound never goes on.
I tried shutting it down and restarting. No help.
Can hear the phone if it rings. When I speak, the other person can hear me.
But can't hear music, TED talks, any sound from internet...

Went into settings and turned off Bluetooth. Turned off "find my iphone" as well.
Still not working.

Doing a full restore from my backup. Keep your fingers crossed for me.
Any other suggestions for how to fix problem would be appreciated.

I as well or you may want first to try DFU mode and see if that helps before going into full restore or setup as new.

Did you try running a Youtube video and pressing the volume rocker? It's frustrating but they are independent of each other. So you can mute the device but if the volume is up for the youtube video it will play loud.

If you go to AirPlay does it show dock connector? My 4s did that had to plug into a dock then went back to playing through phone.

Can someone help me to get the sound on my games ringer is volume on everything else plays the sound music radio etc just the app games do not have sound tried each individual game for sound as well what can I do

HI Am am having the same trouble. I done a restore once. fixed. But now acting up agin.
I am just about ready to switch from iphone to samsung galxy4..
I lost so much info on the last back up. Including pass woords n all my photos.

I been to Apple store twice. N now live to far a way to make a trip in just for the phone. I an going to try Sprint. an go thought there wanrty

I have rebooted my IPad2 and still have no audio on my video recordings. I have an appointment with Genius back in Nashua NH, but that doesn't help me here in Costa Rica, (and may not help there either, as Apple chat certainly was worthless.

I have had the same problem since the new ios download (but mainly lost the sound from the games). Tried all the above. I had almost given up.
Until just today, if it's of any help, what I did was go to "Settings", "General", went to "Use side switch to:", clicked on the "Mute" (as I usually have it set for "lock rotation"). Went back to some of the games, found out "IT WORKS!.... I HAVE SOUND!"
And went back to click on the "lock rotation" to see if I lost the sound again, but it seems all the audio had "come back".
This could be worth a try. Hope this helps.

i fixed this problem this way twice
get into your ipad root directory and go to
/System/Library/LaunchDeamons and locate the file com.apple.iapd.plist

And boom there's your sound

---Worked for me, just delete the file and all of sudden all my notifications started working.

I couldn't express my thank you enough.

Had this problem since 3 weeks ago from that damn update and had hell of a time since.
If only all sound from games and applications were gone, I can still bear them.
But lately sound from incoming calls, sms, etc. were all gone missing. Friends and family were starting ask questions.

I've been through the net try finding solutions: Rebooting, DFU, emptying battery, setting assistive touch, etc. All to no avail.
I almost restore it again but the cost of loosing recent data warns me to find a really long holiday to do it carefully, and it'll be tiring.
But if this fails, I had Android crossed my mind even with very heavy heart.

You can only delete photos from the Saved Photos album. On the iPhone, all photos taken with the camera went there. The only way, it seems, to get photos there on the iPhone is from Safari or from email. Only a sync can delete from the Photo Library album and that's the only way to get them there too.

This has happened to me every time I've upgraded to a new iOS. Unfortunately I didn't realize that until just now or I wouldn't have upgraded to 7.2. i have my daughter's hand-me-down 4s, which the Apple "Senior Specialist" took pains to remind me has been out of warranty for 527 days. Already restored completely after 7.1, you'd think I would have remembered that. That was his first suggestion, do a complete factory restore. Then he said, quote, "Maybe it's an intermittent hardware problem THAT THE UPGRADE IS AGGRAVATING." Precious. What kind of software upgrade aggravates a hardware problem? For this I had to spend a half hour going through a robot, giving it my serial number, then having to give it again to a "specialist" who had no idea what i was talking about and was going to put me on hold while she looked it up, then having to give it again to the Senior Specialist? Goodbye Apple, hello Android.

How did you get to the Root Directory?
I also have No Sound from earphone jack ,speaker, bluetooth, or docking. I have an iPad 3.
Tried allllll of the tips except this one.
