Earlier last week, I had a strange issue with my battery. When I woke up in the morning, it was down to around 21%. Since it had been about 40 hours since a charge, I felt that was normal. Put it on the charger, and started driving. No activity to track while driving. By the time I reached my customer 2 and a half hours later, it was at 99%. Good enough. Put it on. This was around 9:15. Went through my day as normal. Woke up the next morning, and it was dead. Based on the data from my sleep tracker app, it died around 2 AM. Not even 17 hours. Since then, it’s been normal. Around 40 hours between charges.

Any ideas what may have caused this? And, I do close out apps fully after using them.

    1. Which Apple Watch model is this occurring on?
    2. Which watchOS version?
    3. Are you running a beta version on it?
    4. Is it a cellular model? Is it having a difficult time receiving a cellular signal?
    5. Do you have a dedicated Apple Watch app that is constantly tracking your location?

Thank you. Now that the battery has completely discharged, I would charge it to capacity and then see how things go. If it drains quickly again then I would make a Genius Bar appointment with the nearest Apple Store to have them check it out.

Like I said, it happened last week, and hasn’t happened again since.

I would just chalk it up as a glitch.

Gremlins wasn't just a move. They exist. Especially when it comes to electronic devices.

If I understand you correctly, you’re referring to an iPhone 4? If this happens again, you might want to consider visiting the Genius Bar to look into replacing the battery.

A battery replacement at Apple is $80. An iPhone 4 is only worth about $30. Maybe time to upgrade.

Well I’m clearly not paying attention because I just realized that you posted this in the Apple Watch forum So that changes things it’s not an iPhone 4 which I couldn’t figure out how to resolve using that. So if this happens again I would definitely visit the Genius Bar talk to them about a possible battery replacement!
