Wondering if/how/when Apple might jam more battery life into the Apple Watch? I dig my series 2, don't get me wrong... but it's to the point now where I have to charge it daily.

Keep in mind I'm coming from the Fitbit world, where I only had to charge every 3 or 4 days. This was amazing.

I realize a LOT more is going on in the Apple Watch, more power is needed, but what do you think Apple can do to improve battery life?

I'm with you, @James Falconer! I am ready for more Fitbit-like battery life. I, too, have to charge mine overnight unless I want to charge it during the work day. That's one thing I don't really want to have to worry about. I read somewhere this morning that Apple has a team of people working on a chip that increases battery life. It was before 5am and I was trying to wake up, so not a lot of it was retained. It may have been for the phone, but hopefully, it will spill over to the AW if it's successful.

I have a first gen, I've always had to charge mine daily. It doesn't bother me much though, I just charge it while I'm sleeping like I do my phone.

Personally, having to charge the watch over night is no big deal. I have never slept with a watch on, even when I'm out backpacking. Now I understand people wanting to be able to track their sleep, but when do you charge your watch? At some point you have to.

As long as I can get through a full day or more, I'm good. The longest I've had my watch on was about 20 hours straight and it still had over 50% charge. That was including a 50+ minute run during the day.

I charge my watch while I wash up in the morning and at night, then just until I turn off the light. This almost always keeps the battery at 90%-100% after each charge. My watch has never really been below 50%. I have always worn a watch to bed; it's the easiest way for me to see what time it is when (these days not if) I wake up during the night.

I charge my AWs and AWS2 daily when worn. My S2 can go almost 2 days if I let it. I don't.

Overnight charging doesn't bother me. But to get more from Apple than currently offered, Apple will have to increase the life.

Currently, the only way I see that possible is with a bigger battery or new, significantly more efficient battery tech. Improving the wOS and silicon will only be small, incremental increases, methinks. Changing the display type could save battery, but that also has significant compromises.

People want GSM and always on— there's a price to pay and most don't want to.

The "it's to the point now" part makes me ask, is your watch's battery life getting worse over time?
