BeatsX Lightning Charge Port and Rain

Unlike every other pair of BT headphones I've every seen, the charging port on the BeatsX is entirely exposed. Any idea if this port is somehow protected from water like, say, iPhone 7? If not, i would think this could be a real problem if you wear your BeatsX in the rain. I haven't seen this mentioned in any of the reviews or Beats literature.

The Powerbeats3 no longer cover the port either so I am guessing Apple has put their water MoJo on the ports to protect them. Plus the port is on the bottom of the headset so even in the rain it should not be getting easily rained on.

While we don't have an official iFixit teardown to reference, I wouldn't be surprised if Apple added some coating and seals to the port to keep that from being a problem.
