Version 1 and Nike Running app question

I realize the Vr 1 watch does not have GPS, so the watch needs to have the phone present. Question: If I start a run on my phone, will I be able to see if on my watch while I'm running?

You should be able to start the run from your watch and be fine as long as the phone is near.

You can start the app on your watch and then if you are carrying the phone, it will use the GPS in the phone to improve accuracy. If you're not carrying the phone it will estimate distance using the pedometer in the watch.

I was looking for the best app for run. I use to run with endomondo or runtastic (without watch). Now the watch has nike app. Does the nike app tracks the map?

EDIT: after run today I know, it tracks the map.
