New Apple Watch series 1 owner

Hello iMore.
I bought my first Apple Watch series 1. The main reason i went with the series 1 was the price compared to the newer series 2. Also the series 2 is hard to get your hands on.
I bought mine from B&H photo. Should be here early next week.
I got soace grey to match my iPad Pro 12.9 space grey and iPhone 6s Plus space grey

Any other series 1 owners happy with theirs compared to the ewer series 2?

I also didnt really need the water resistance or gps.

I have a Series 1 and am very happy with it. I have owned it for a few months now. I did not even consider going to the AW2 as I do not need GPS or any of the new features that come with the AW2. The AW1 does everything I need it too so I am quite content. Congrats on your new watch!

I'm still on the original Apple Watch and have no real inclination to get the series 2. For me the GPS and waterproofing make no odds, and currently my Apple Watch does just what I need it to do.
I'm going to try and sit it out to the next version...famous last words.
I must admit, I have been tempted by the Garmin Fenix.
I'm sure you'll be perfectly happy with your purchase though.

I love my series 0 Apple Watch. No need for the features of the new series 2 for me at least.

Bought my Series 1 a month ago and I don't regret it a bit. Honestly, most of the time I find myself itching for the latest and greatest and wondering "what if". But the Series 2 offers nothing that I would use or can even justify. My Series 1 is awesome and I'm loving it. Just bought a few new bands from Amazon to style it up a bit and I'm enjoying it even more.

Yea I grabbed a sport one and a few leather bands. Figure I can change my look depending on where I'm going.

Why not indeed. I think Apple did a pretty good job on providing two different products that made it easy for most customers to decide which Watch was for them. Now to spend bucks saved on bands!

I just bought my self the exact same one lol. I should be getting it within the week. I just read the article on this site about Hermes leather band replacements and I am debating on getting one for my new watch. It would look nice when I go out though.

I prefer the series 1 over the series 2 because of the same CPU for a lower price.

I have series 1....just got it... it's ok paid 180.00 for it... thinking of giving it to my daughter and getting series 2! But not sure yet.... overall I m into newer is always better...ik...lol that's just me!

You'd be sharing the love by giving your daughter the S1. I've got an S2, but if I get another Watch (other than the Nike) it'll probably be an S1.
