To confirm, the main difference between the Apple Watch Sport and the Apple Watch Stainless Steel, is the 'stainless steel', and weight of it, right?

About six months ago, I bought an Apple Watch Sport 42mm. Within 48 hours, I returned it. It felt rather small and lightweight on my wrist.

Typically, I wear a Invicta type watch (I have a few of those), and they are HEAVY and large. Maybe that's why I wasn't too fond of the Apple Watch Sport.

I'm now virtually fully vested in Apple. With that, I own an iPad Air II, iPhone 6s Plus, and new addition a few weeks ago, and iMac (first Mac EVER).

Think about adding an Apple Watch. Hence my question...

Yes the stainless steel, the weight and also the watch model has sapphire glass instead of the ion x. I upgraded as well from the sport.

Plus the Digital Crown is black on the outside. Nothing huge but I noticed it right away.

Yes, material is the only difference. I would wait and see if Apple announces Watch 2 during WWDC next week.

Innards are same. I choose to not spend that much on the stainless steel watch but I do like the look better. Maybe if the 2nd gen is better, I'll buck up. To me, first gen isn't worth it.

Nah, not waiting for Apple Watch 2. I'd want all the issues resolved first. Even my iPhone 6s Plus, iPad Air II and iMac 27", I waited before buying them. I work in IT and I'm rather tired of being the tester for manufacturer products

Not only aluminum and stainless steel and weight, but also sapphire crystal and ceramic (zirconia) on the stainless steel as well, hence all the extra cost.

You two are not helping. I've already been on Amazon shopping. Now looking for a decent dock, too. Something sturdy...

LOVE this dock. Super sturdy and inexpensive! A nice minimalist design and the TPU coating keeps the watch from getting scratched.

I was about to buy this from Amazon earlier. But some reviews state that it moves easily while placing the watch on it, etc.

    Any feedback on that? Thanks

There are sticky pads on the base. Mine doesn't budge at all.

This is the one I have. Works great, and doesn't move. Makes charging a lot simpler without having to look

Basically the same as my Spigen dock. The only thing I like about mine is the TPU headpiece. It's peace of mind for me. I could hypothetically scratch my Watch up against it pretty aggressively and not get a scratch.

I just lay it on at night and lift in the morning. Though I actually slide because of the few cases I've seen where the back came off. But the Apple charger is raised off the surface of the dock so the watch body hasn't come in contact with the dock. I can't see myself thrashing my watch against the stand so the TPU is a non-issue.
