Apple Watch update 2.1

Having trouble updating watch to 2.1. Whenever I click download it says that I need to connect to wifi. The phone is connected to wifi. Any solutions?

I'm sorry you're having issues with your watch.

I would try the following:
- force quit the watch app on your phone (double tap the round home button and swipe up on the watch app)
- relaunch watch app
- put iPhone in airplane mode then back off airplane mode so it reconnects to your wifi. This also cycles the Bluetooth.
- Make sure your watch is on the charger and both devices are in range of each other
- couldn't hurt to reboot again

I had a problem like yours when I first got my watch and tried updating to OS2. I took my phone and watch to the Genius Bar and learned there was an issue with the wifi port (?) in my phone. I ended up having to restore my phone, pair the watch again, and then update. Everything worked fine after that.
