Is it safe to use the Apple 12W USB Power Adapter (instead of the 5W one) with the Apple Watch magnetic charging cable?

Re: Power Adapter Question

I do it all the time. I am sure Apple thought of that and put in an auto regulating charger like in the rest of the Apple devices. The last thing they want is people frying their watches because they plugged the cable into the iPad charger.

Re: Power Adapter Question

The power supply won't put out more than the device is asking for. The larger adapter is simply capably of supplying more current should the connected device need it (think iPad). There is no harm whatsoever in using it with your watch.

Yes, it works just fine. Apple considered this when they designed the power management features in its products. There's NO risk in damaging your Apple Watch.
