How is everyone going to explain to friends, family, and strangers why you got an Apple Watch? I don't think most people are going to understand it.
What matters is why you want it.

    Go for the stainless steel!!

Don't risk being un-happy over a few hundred dollars.. If you buy the Sport and then don't like it sure you can return it for the SS model but how long until thats back in stock
Yes I think I will go with the Stainless since everything is telling me to go that route.

The only review I've read that mentions anything about this, said that the Sport models with the rubber bands fit more snugly on the arm, and therefore the reviewer thought that the heartbeat readings were actually *more* accurate than the steel watch.
Anything like that would depend on your wrist size.

5 more hours. It's going to be a slow wait. I get off work in an hour, then I'm treating myself and the lady to some Pho. As soon as I get home, I'm back online prepping for this watch purchase!

Also, the steel version does have a fluoroelastomer band as well so it really comes down to the band that you are using and not necessarily the material of the watch body.

So does everyone think it will be like ordering the iPhone? Will they run out of stock?

I think you better be ready and don't make any typos.

What is the consensus on AppleCare+ for the watch? Worth the investment?

For the price, I don't think you can go wrong. . . . Like Rene said, it gives you peace of mind--just in case.

Best of luck to all of your ordering tonight. I haven't worn a watch in 20 years, and have no real interest in purchasing the Watch and I can't justify $699 or more for something that I won't use.

But that said, I wish you all well and hope each of you gets the watch of their choice.

This Apple Care+ is a bit different from the Other Apple Care+'s that have come before it.

For $59 for the Sport, there's nothing worthwhile (aside from an additional Sport Band) you can do for $59 for an Apple Watch so the $59 is much more warranted.
