I put my Series 3 through its first test today and ran the Bronx 10 Mile Run this morning. (It was quite hot!) I was curious how the battery would hold up with LTE, GPS, and heart rate on, so I put my phone on airplane mode (listened to downloaded music on it) and relied on my Watch for pretty much everything. Coming from an original Apple Watch, what a revelation Series 3 was! I use Strava, and the measurements were very solid. I forgot to turn on location services in the beginning, but the built-in GPS worked great. The heart rate monitoring seemed extremely improved, too. Best of all, even with the LTE, GPS, and heart rate monitoring, over the span of almost 2 hours of running (the heat really slowed me down, lol), my battery still had 81 percent left, and that also factors in the 2 hour travel time to the Bronx. Overall, a great first test! My next big test will come at the Boston Half in two weeks; hopefully, it will be cooler. :)
