Can’t update watch

I have Apple Watch series 1 and iPhone 7. Just updated to iOS 12.1.1 on the phone. Trying to update watch and I can see there is an update available but I get message on phone that it is not connected to the internet but it is connected. Tried 2 button reset on both devices and still no luck. Any suggestions?

Is the iPhone connected to a Wi-Fi network and your Watch to its charging pad?

Thanks for your response. It was. I got it to worke now by shutting WiFi off in phone settings and the turning it back on. It’s updating now.
