Stupid simple question - but where can you find your Apple Watch backups? I've never actually had a use for a backup, but was wondering where/how I access it for a friend!

Your Apple Watch will be backed up when you do an iCloud or an iTunes backup. Anyway, to restore a backup to your Apple Watch, follow the simple instruction found via the following iMore Blog link.

I don't see the backups in my iCloud. I assume they have to be there taking up space, but I don't see them.

I also found it mildly irritating that I couldn't use a 38mm watch backup on a new 42mm watch. It didn't even show as an option.

As far as I know, the backups are stored in the watch app on the phone, so they wouldn’t be user-accessible. They’d be in the private storage that would only be accessible to the watch app on the phone's storage.

Did not know that you can't use a 38mm backup for a 42mm. It would really annoy me.

Hmm, not on my iPhone? Under either "storage" or "iCloud"?

Have you created a backup for your Watch? This is done automatically when you unpair a/your Watch. If you've never unpaired, you won't have a backup.

My Watch backups were a total of 27.8mb so they were at near the bottom of a very long list of apps.

Thanks for that. Found mine, deleted the old 38mm one. Will have to do the same for my wife. She has had 5 38mm now and they are all still there when she goes to set them up.
