Preface: I have yet to see the Keynote.

I might skip it until my Apple TV HD’s support is completely dropped from new tvOS releases.

It is still plenty fast and the 4K versions bring very little to my 1080p/120Hz TV.

I think I agree with you. In the heat of the moment I opened this thread and now I’m leaning against not getting it.

Time will tell.

Definitely getting it. Hoping the high framerate support enables full 4K and even HDR capability for the YouTube app so I can stop using my TV's app for that. The bigger and more important reason is the 1st gen Chromecast I gave my parents a couple years ago has died and they never really figured out how to use it very well anyway. We plan to give them our 1st gen AppleTV 4K box which is still working great and then we'll pick up this new 2nd gen one.

I am probably going to get the new remote for my current 4K Apple TV rather than a whole new box. I just hate that touch remote so much.

I’m still trying to decide if I’m going to return the Apple TV 4K that I purchased a few weeks ago for this. I have until May 5 to decide. Guess I should watch the Keynote to see what the differences are.

So what’s the advantage between the previous model and this new 4K model? If you only use your previous model for YouTube and for streaming music, do you really need the 4K? I personally think the remote might be a bigger hit

It’s nice to see that I’m not the only one changing their mind to get or not get it

Right…it’s makes me feel like my thought process is valid As much as I love new things, I can’t really justify this one. I only upgraded from my 4th gen to the 4K because I wanted to use the stereo HomePod setup. If it wasn’t for that, I’d still be perfectly happy with the 4th gen.

I have the Apple TV 4K, which I haven’t even had for 2 years yet. I’m not upgrading mine. I might buy the new remote. My son hid my remote for 6 months and had me tear the house up looking for it. It miraculously showed up last night.

I've been waiting for this new updated Apple TV 4K for 2 years now but had lost interest. I don't currently own one so we'll see if my interest is revived.
