Setting Apple TV remote to control volume

So on my old tv with my old Apple TV I was able to control the power and the volume right from my control, I bought a new sharp 4K tv with roku tv, and I bought the new Apple TV 4K but i am not able to control the tv power or volume from my remote, I tried setting it up in remotes and devices and learn new device but i am still unable to control my tv with my Apple remote, any ideas?

You might have already figured this out.. but if not, you want to make sure you have "control other devices" turned on in Apple TV settings and also Aquos Link turned on in your TV settings.
