Just wanted to share a bit of frustration that I've been incorrectly blaming on the AppleTV, in case anyone else is having the same issue.
Apparently, there was a botched Sonos update that causes no sound, intermittent sound, or delayed sound when watching a program in Dolby 5.1 using the Playbar. Googling "AppleTV no audio" yielded only results that eventually led to "turn off surround sound on the AppleTV and use PCM (stereo)". Saw a tweet from The Verge this morning saying I'm not alone and it's a Sonos issue with the last update. I wasn't thinking it was the Sonos, as my Xbox One did not have the issue, but it must be putting out a slightly different 5.1 stream than the AppleTV, which the Playbar finds acceptable.
I've said all kinds of nasty things to my AppleTV over the last few days. I owe it many apologies.
