Hiya,
borntobeoutdoors!
I think I might have a solution for you. It looks like you might be requesting the authentication code
after you've alread put in your password and tapped/clicked to sign in.
If you have an iOS device or a Mac, we can generate an authentication code
before you go to type your password.
On iOS - Launch Settings and tap on iCloud.
- Tap on your Apple ID.
- Tap Password & Security.
- Tap Get Verification Code.
- Write down the Verification Code or commit it to memory.
On macOS - Launch System Preferences.
- Click iCloud.
- Click Account Details.
- If prompted, enter your password.
- Click Security.
- Click Get Verification Code.
- Write down the Verification Code or commit it to memory.
OK, now that you've got a Verification Code and you haven't yet entered your password on Apple TV, let's proceed.
For the sake of this tutorial, let's say your password is
and Apple sent you
as your verification code.
- Go to the login screen on Apple TV.
- If it shows your Apple ID is logged in, start by logging out.
- Click to log in and type in your Apple ID.
- In the password field, type the following:
Code:
chocolateisgood123456
- Click to sign in.
By requesting your Verification Code ahead of time, maybe that'll shake out any buginess related to Apple's 2FA! Let me know how it goes!
