The Apple TV will turn off on its own. There is no need to turn it off.

check your settings, it could be set to go off, 1 min, 5, 10 -20 -30 min etc .
you can reduce the time if required

To "turn off"... on the TV - Settings...Sleep Now...

To make it automatic... Settings...General... Sleep After... set as desired - 15 minutes is the shortest duration choice available.

You can also hold down the Play/Pause button on your remote to put the Apple TV in sleep mode immediately.
