    tried to watch a movie from iTunes on my apple tv but it was stopping and starting constantly so unplugged the system but this did not help. So did a reset but after waiting for the downloading of the updates the message came up that the download was unsuccessful and to try again, which I did with the same results. What is the next step besides throwing the system out the window?

    Verify your network connection. Also, you might want to reboot your modem/router.
