Regarding the Apple TV, which is more important?

Which of the following two options are more important to YOU in regard to the Apple TV?

1. Additional hardware options (For ex: additional HDMI ports)
2. Keeping the Software updated and adding additional channels/features.

My personal preference is for Apple to keep updating the software, but that's Just Me, D...

In my opinion, the software is more important. I would love for the cable authentication to go away because it feels redundant when it still requires an internet connection and a login (plus codes for some channels).

Software for me.
As far as more channels. I would like to have Direct TV on ATV with the same functionality as the Direct TV iOS app with limited channels. Sort like HBO Go on ATV.
Before HBO Go came to ATV streaming it with my 4s to ATV was fantastic.

Not to go off topic but I watched some DirectTV on my 5S last night and the picture was incredible. I'm guessing it's the A7 Rockin the retina display?
