Apple TV Not Find Update

My Apple TV is not finding the new update (6.0). I've gone through, Settings>General>Update Software, Restored and restored using iTunes. Still not updating. I believe I have the 3rd Gen model. The model # on the About view shows MD199LL/A. Was the update pulled back by Apple that I haven't seen yet? Just too many people updating?

I tried updating my TV to 6.0 and something went wrong and told me to plug into iTunes. That was a problem because my iMac is broken. I took both to the Apple Store today. They tried restoring my TV but it wouldn't work so they gave me a new one. I've just gotten it plugged in and it's not seeing the update at all.

Manual install... Download the ipsw for your version of the AppleTV

Then... hook up your AppleTV to iTunes on computer with micro USB cable... when it shows up in iTunes as a device like your phone, on a PC hit shift+click the restore button... on mac option+click restore... navigate to the file downloaded above... let iTunes do its thing - then hook back up to your TV and set-up from there....

How do I know which 3rd gen model I have? I know my original 3rd gen wasn't the revised version based on the time that I bought it. But I don't know about the replacement.

Good question... there's nothing on the outside to give it away... and the Settings>> General>> About gives a model number... MD199/LLA - same on both versions of the aTV3... if you guess wrong, you'll likely get an error so you can use the other version...

Revise... on the underside of the device in very, very small print the model can be found... A1427 is 3rd gen... A1469 is the 3rd Gen Rev. A.

I just saw a post on one of the blogs that Apple has pulled the 6.0 update for Apple TV ...

"The update, which added support for iTunes Radio, podcast syncing, and AirPlay from iCloud, was reportedly pulled due to severe problems. This including instances where the update could brick an Apple TV."
