When we rent a movie from Apple,it streams slowly and may take 30 minutes to even start. Netflix streams immediately. We have Comcast cable(average to-Good down load speeds for our Mac.)Apple Airport express and all other Apple tv functions are rapid.
there is some web entries talking about "google DNS slowing down Apple Streams" -is this true and should i try to change my DNS ?
I don't even think "google" has a role in my downloads or streams, do they?

I've heard of this issue before. Changing your DNS is an easy test. I use openDNS myself and have no issues with streaming from iTunes.

    What OS Are you using?

you =cane use open dns numbers (opendns.org) and get the IP's and put them into your configuration depending on what OS you use. Let me know and I'll help you out.

in system prefs > network ? click ethernet (or airport if you use wireless) > advanced > DNS > click the + and add and place it at the top of the list.

    that should do it.
