I guess this is what I get for assuming, but I thought any app on the iPhone that used the default media player automatically got AirPlay Video. Well found a clip online in Safari, clicked airplay, and it shows only audio is available. The only apps that can make use of AirPlay so far are iPod (movies) and YouTube.

Pretty horrible since those are already on my AppleTV or in my iTunes.

Has anyone found any other apps that are fully (video and audio) AirPlay compatible?

I found that I can play videos from History.com via airplay on the Apple TV but overall I'm quite disappointing as well. I was hoping that it would work with Hulu plus.

I have a felling that in iOS 5, we may see airplay be extended where you could stream the entire screen over.

I didn't think hulu plus would have it since it doesn't use the default media player. But Netflix I was sure would have this function, it didn't. A bit redundant since AppleTV already has Netflix. Honestly, I found no benefit of having AirPlay so far. Can't even stream pictures in camera roll, gets stuck.

We can only hope. Guess this was just a tease of things to come. With that, the iPhone/iPod + Apple TV combo would truly be revolutionary.

I can't wait for the official jailbreak. Someones gonna come out with "AirPlay Tricker" and show us what the experience is supposed to be like.

I'm able to stream my music, photos, and videos via AirPlay. Like you pointed out, some videos played thru Safari only seem to play sound out of, but like an earlier post on this site pointed out, it would make for a "surround sound" style experience. Either way, I'm sure software updats, by either apple or developers, will soon let us take advantage of the future. I for one and looking forward to VLC player being updated.

I beleive that Apple has the code ready, but is holding off so to not hinder/damage negociations with content providers: GoogleTV jumped the gun and is now blocked everywere.
Problem is that studios see TV, laptop and phones as 3 seperate screens, thus should charge us 3 times. Apple is making the case of charging us ONCE, thus transfering their revenue model from cable/ads generated to end-user financed. Its a totally different mindset and that's why (imho) content providers would rather bleed money in the current model than take a leap of faith in a new (e.i. unproven) one.

Don't be offended by this, it is what it is: I'm looking forward to the day when I'm able to stream YouPorn.com via iPad/Safari to my Apple TV.
