Share content without computer on?

I'm thinking about getting the new AppleTV and sharing my iTunes content through my network. The question I had was that if I have my iTunes content on a hard drive that is connected to my AirPort Extreme, is there still a need for my computer to be on if I want to watch or listen to my content on my AppleTV?

Edit: NVM Just after posting this I found the answer to my own question.
