Which preset is best for converting HD content? I am looking for quality over speed and should I tweak any of the preset settings? Thanks.

I have been using the Apple Universal default and it seems to be ok...I'm watching Ace Ventura right now and it looks good. Sounds good too!!

I've got pretty much the same question. In preparation of getting my appletv, I'm going to start ripping all my DVDs to an external hard drive. It's a 1 TB drive, so I'm more concerned with video quality than size. Of course because they are DVDs they are standard def, so what is the best format for that? MPEG 4?

HandBrake has a new, much improved compilation system, which allows easy 64-bit and parallel builds, as well as providing easy extendability for future improvements to the application. 64-bit builds tend to perform approximately 10% better than their 32-bit brethren. There is no Snow Leopard magic here: the performance gains can also be realized on Intel Macs running 10.5, as well as Linux systems.
