Just over two years ago i made an ill informed decision and chose a windows phone over the about to be released iphone 3g. As my contract ended this time i spent months and months researching iOS and the iPhone4 vs Froyo and the new Droid models. The decision was made more difficult as my new wife and i set in motion our plan to upgrade our laptop and most likely add a tablet within the next twelve months. I knew our decision on a new phone would vastly affect our technology purchases for the entire year. Well after much deliberation we settled upon brand new iphones. Now that we've settled on iphones we want to jump fully into the iOS. Getting to join the Apple TV users would greatly help us to complete our transition to apple.
I want this because my Wii suddenly quit working, and it was my only TV-connected device for watching Netflix movies. Plus, the prospect of having apps on the TV is tempting.
Just bought the old Apple TV (and loving it) because I don't yet have any HDMI inputs, but I'm planning on purchasing a new TV for the bedroom, so AirPlay and Netflix in the bedroom would be perfect! - Start watching in the living room, finish in the bedroom.
It would be a great media center for my man cave. I can abandon my initial plan to use a bulky
desktop pc and hide the Apple TV behind my wall-mounted LCD. Then I can set up home sharing and
stream all my music and movies to the Apple TV from the desktop in another room all while using the Remote app on my iPhone 4 or iPod touch. I'm drooling just thinking about all the possibilities... I GOTTA HAVE ONE!!! I hope Apple has some tricks up their sleeves because the new google tv is going to give them some steep competition.
I want it so I can downgrade our cable plan down to the basic, this way my kids can just watch thru the $.99 movie rental and just stream my movies thru it. Hard times, call for wise decision.
I could really use the Apple TV come March when our first babies are due. I have the feeling the twins will keep us busy and I won't be able to watch TV on a "regular" schedule.
I made the jump to Apple almost 2 years ago and I'm not looking back. But I'm a poor youth pastor that uses all this tech to help students. I use video as illustrations and for movie nights all the time. This would be a HUGE help.
Beginning the converstion to the apple world. Never thought it would happen but I have come to the realization Apple is where it is at. First gave up the BlackBerry for an iPhone, next step give up my Thinkpad for a MacBook....Apple TV would only fit with this transition
I'm tired of giving money to the cable companies for content I don't needbut don't have a choice but to pay for. Devices like the Apple TV will provide me with the means to watch the content I actually want.
