When transferring photos from iPhone 7 to a computer, is it best to have selected “automatic” or “keep originals”? Which version would preserve the highest quality?

When transferring photos from iPhone 7 to a computer, is it best to have selected “automatic” or “keep originals”? Which version would preserve the highest quality?

I’d keep the originals if I were you.
HEIC and HEIF are new containers that offer lower storage with better quality, compared to JPEG.
If your computer or software can’t handle HEIC and HEIF, then opting for ‘automatic’ is the way to go.
