Apple Pay issues

So I just went to Albertsons and they now support Apple Pay where I live and today it didn't work and it's worked before is it because they ran it on debit? Like right when I put my phone to the reader it automatically asked for my pin so was it because of their system? Is this going to keep happening with other retailers?

Probably their system. Mine didn't work at the McDonald's drive thru today. Never does. But it works inside. The manager said it's a hit and miss thing. I think it's employee error.

Ya I work at McDonalds and you have to do it right usually works when customers come to me
