I was just wondering what the difference was between Apple Music and iTunes. iTunes to me is you can download a individual song and own it. Apple Music you can stream the whole song but you don't own it. Is this true?

It's my understanding that Apple Music is a subscription service, although, apparently, there is a free trial. I've never used it, because I don't want to eat up data when I'm out and about. When I'm at my desk, I use other services, like iHeart Radio, Pandora, etc. iTunes is where you can purchase songs either one song at a time, or an entire album. You can also purchase apps, movies, etc.
iTunes is a win here cause you always have your entirely music collection with yourself anywhere without concern of re-subscribe to your Apple Music account in order to prevent archive from hiding.
With the Family Plan you have unlimited streaming from the cloud and can download any and all the songs you want for only $8/month.
