Someone recently asked me if I had purchased or was going to purchase the new 16-inch MacBook Pro. I was like why? My 2017 MacBook Pro is still performing like a pro and still looks brand spanking new.

That got me to thinking...Who buys a new MacBook every year? I sure as heck don’t. Do you?

I have the 2015 MBP and my hubs just got me the 2019 MBA because it is more portable. There will be no upgrade for me anytime soon.

I’m still using my 2012 MacBook Pro. Doubled the RAM, took out the original hard drive and optical drive, and duplexed two 2 TB SSD, and runs like a champ.

Not me, have the 2019 MBA, and before that the 2013 MBA (which still works fine with the latest update) have no need to update every year.

Like many said, I don't switch out every year either. I'm still sporting my 2016 MBP, and before that, it was a 2010 MBP.

Nope. My 2015 MBP is still performing GREAT. No need to purchase a MacBook on a yearly basis for me anyways. I hope to get about 3/4 more years out of my current MBP.

I know, right? I kept my 2009 MacBook until I bought the original 9.7” iPad Pro as a replacement and I plan on keeping my 2017 MacBook Pro just as long...

I'm still rocking my 13" MacBook Pro from early 2011.
It's the 2,7GHz i7 version.
Last year I upgraded it with an 256 GB Samsung SSD, 8 GB RAM and a new battery.

Now, it's showing it's age on software side - sticking with High Sierra.
Pages, Numbers and KeyNote won't be upgradable anymore since a month.
Slowly it's time for me to upgrade, but it was an awesome companion the last decade and NEVER let me down!

With the new SSD boot time is 11 seconds - which is awesome even for todays standards.
Programs open like in an blink of an eye and when it comes to editing movies it shows it's age, but not to that point that I really needed to upgrade.

Gonna wait for the new 13" models in 2020 - but I never regretted to remain sticking with my current model.
Still in love with it and gonna be sad somehow if I leave it for a newer, greater model.

I had a 2017 MBP briefly but ended up selling it so I could help my daughter with a financial emergency. I still have my 2013 13” MBP that I’m back to using. I would really like to get a 2018 or 2019 MBA in the future.
