How do you delete photo videos on your iPad which were taken on your iPhone

My iPad storage is full so I need to delete photo videos. No problem deleting ones that were taken with the iPad but i am unable to delete ones taken with my iPhone which are copied onto my iPad. The photo videos themselves are not on my iPhone anymore so am unable to delete them there.

Settings>> Photos & Camera>> Optimize iPad Storage... turn that on.

This option is not available on IOS 9.0.2
