I want my iPad and my iPhone to have the same everything on them. (As much as possible...I know some apps don't work on both). I got the iPad (mini) before I got the iPhone. Is there a good way to just wipe the iPad and start again so that it will be the same as the iPhone? Do I need to do anything specific in iTunes to do this?

Sure, go to Settings - General - Reset and then select "Erase All Contents and Settings". When the process is complete, you will see the Welcome screen. Just set it up in the manner of your iPhone. Make a backup first, please.
