    I went step by step following your tutorial--place, location, time--then pressed done in the upper right hand corner--the screen returns to my calendar-on the date I was trying to add the appointment, but there is no appointment showing up at the time...

    In the native Calendar app, select "Calendars" at the bottom of the screen and then make sure that there is a check mark next to all calendars listed therein. Afterwards, select "Done" in the upper right corner.
