Have the usb port in my car, have blue tooth, etc, but don't know how to listen to my music. When I plug in my iPad it says I need an app

Is it the standard audio system that came with your car? Or aftermarket? Consult your car owner's manual or the aftermarket device's documentation on attaching external devices.
