New airpods hardware version still 1?

Very surprised with the new chip the hardware version for the new AirPods are showing as 1.0.0. There’s literally no way to tell the difference between new and old versions.

Hmmm?? I just got mine delivered today and have only unboxed them so far but haven't had a chance to test them out yet.

The new chip is version 1. It’s a brand new chip.
