Skipping songs with the Apple EarBuds/EarPods

Honestly I was wondering why apple never added a skip button in the earphones until I realized today that:
1. Skip to the next song: press the center button twice quickly
2. Return to the previous song: press the center button 3 times quickly
3. Fast-forward: press the center button twice quickly and hold
4. Rewind: press the center button 3 times quickly and hold

Wow the center button really does a lot
