I've really been happy with this find: Bluelounge - Milo: Micro-Suction Stand for your smartphone. Now available in cool aluminium finish.
Cheap and works great: the suction is strong and I personally love the all-black model for my black iPhone 5.
Note: it won't work with some plastic cases. For example, I got this iPhone 5 case free with their great iPad case: iPhone 5 Cases | Get You iPhone 5 Cases from ZooGue.com
but it doesn't stick to the MIlo. I don't know what that material is made of and all their web site says is it's "TPU." My son's Belkin case sticks just fine, however--it has a more traditional plastic feel.
The Milo box states: "Milo works best with smooth surfaces and may not work well with certain silicone or textured cases."
It concludes with "iPhone not included." Dang.
