.Press and hold down the "On/Off Sleep/Wake" button and release it when the red slider is displayed.

.Press and hold down the "Home" button to force-quit an application that is causing problems. Alternatively, double-click the "Home" button and then press and hold down the application's icon until it starts to move. Tap the "Red circle and White Dash" icon to force it to quit and remove it from the recently used apps list. If your iPhone still does not work correctly, go to the next step.

.Press and hold down the "On/Off Sleep/Wake" button and release it when the red slider is displayed. Then move the slider with your finger to turn off the iPhone. Wait 10 seconds and then press and hold down the "On/Off Sleep/Wake" button until the Apple logo is displayed. If your iPhone still does not work correctly, go to the next step.

.Press and hold down the "On/Off Sleep/Wake" button and the "Home" button together for 10 seconds. Release both buttons when the Apple logo appears. If your iPhone still does not work correctly, go to the next step.

.Verify that you have installed the latest iTunes version and then launch the software.

.Connect your iPhone to your computer and then select "iPhone" when it appears under "Devices" in "iTunes."

.Click the "Summary" tab and then click "Check for Update." Wait for the update to complete and then close out of iTunes.
