Can I use car charger for my old Spec Ed U2 iPod (4th gen) to charge iPhone 4?

Total newbie here.

Just got an iPhone 4. My first ever iPhone.

I'm wondering if I can use the car charger I have for my old original U2 Special Edition iPod (4th generation, I think).

I'm guessing not but thought I'd ask, save the expense of buying another car charger if I can just use the one I already have.

yeah, why not? i'm using my old ipod usb brick on my night stand.
